Version history

Track, compare, and restore content changes to keep your work history visible and recoverable.

Atono tracks changes your team makes to the content of your stories, bugs, and epics—so you can see how work has evolved, understand why changes were made, and restore earlier versions if needed.

View version history

You can open version history in the following ways:

  • Stories and bugs: In the item header, click the ellipsis (...) icon and select Version history.
    • This option is only available when the item has more than one version. If no changes have been made, the option is disabled.
  • Stories, bugs, and epics: In the Activities list, click a content update.

Version history opens with the corresponding version selected. If you open it from the item header, the most recent version is selected by default.

Each version shows when the update was made and who made it. To reduce noise, multiple edits made within a short period are grouped into a single version.

Browse and compare changes

Click any version in the list to view it. The most recent version is selected by default.

Each version highlights what changed compared to the version immediately before it:

  • Additions are shown in green.
  • Deletions are shown in red with strikethrough.

Restore a previous version

  1. Hover over the version you want to restore.
  2. Click the ellipsis (...) icon when it appears and select Restore this version.
  3. A confirmation dialog appears before restoring.
    • You’ll be warned if any AC-level comments or attachments in your current version will be lost—these won’t be restored unless they’re also present in the version you’re reverting to.
    • General comments on the item or attachments in the area below the text in a story or bug will be preserved.
  4. Click Restore version, or click X to cancel.

Restoring creates a new version identical to the one you selected. That restored version:

  • Becomes the new current version.
  • Shows changes relative to the version that was current before the restore.
  • Appears in the Activities list as an update to the item's description.
